Boston in the Fall / Newport Family Photography

Exploring New England!

My husband kids and I, riding on a bus through a new city, the bus lurches off the main road and heads straight into the Charles river.  The front of the bus hits the water first and water splashes up the sides and onto the windows.  My kid’s stare, eye’s wide, as the water rises up the side of the bus.

Okay, maybe I shouldn’t say hits but slowly and deliberately drives into the water. My family decided, spur of the moment, to take a trip up to Boston for Veteran’s Day.  Everyone had the day off and the Duck Boat Tours had a special for active duty military and their family.

We found a place to “pahk the cah” (park the car) at the museum and headed over to the Duck Boat Tours.  Boston is an amazing city with so much history.  I unfortunately missed a some of the info from the tour guide because my baby wasn’t loving being strapped to me.  He was much happier after I let him out.

Duck boats are a bus that can drive on water or land.  Floating down the river was my favorite part of the tour.  They even let my kids drive the boat, which they thought was the coolest thing ever.

Our Duck boat was “rainbow” colored (which is a real color, especially when you have a little girl).  Our boat was captained by Sergeant Meatball and he had any veterans sign the top of the boat during the tour.

When the tour was over we decided to walk to around Boston for bit to explore a little more.  Boston is a beautiful city.  I get why going to Boston in the fall is a thing.

On a side note, the kids and I may have been singing the Veggie Tale’s song about the Pirates who don’t do anything on and off the whole day. (If you don’t know that song….click here) LOL!

“and I’ve never been to Boston in the FAAALLLL!”
